Aloo Kabli
(Tangy potato street food of Kolkata, India- gluten-free, vegan)
This is that one food that makes me pure nostalgic. There is no school in Calcutta without aloo kabli vendors outside the gates. From apology to sweet romance, aloo kabli was the go-to food for every occasion.
From saying maa not to pack tiffin because there was a planned aloo kabli picnic to getting scolded for overeating aloo kabli. There are tons and tons of stories surrounding aloo kabli. So, here I present a recipe from the archives of my childhood that will always be fresh in my mind regardless of where and how old I am.
What is Aloo kabli?

Aloo kabli is a fusion of hot, spicy, and sour-flavored potatoes mostly found in the streets of Calcutta. This quick and simple street food is the ideal snack for all your kitten parties, birthday parties, potlucks, etc.
Aloo kabli is delicious and nutritious. Chickpea, potato, cucumber, whole yellow pea, onion, and other components are abundant. These are mixed with a handmade spice blend, chaat masala, lemon juice, tamarind pulp, chili flakes, and tamarind pulp.
It works well as a teatime snack, in my opinion. However, you can have it at any time of day. Simply keep everything prepared in the refrigerator. Mix everything together and eat whenever you are hungry! Please try this dish if you enjoy street food as much as I do.
This potato chaat is liked by people of all ages. Let’s get ready to rustle up a fresh aloo chaat.
