Chocolate Peda

Indian sweets and their numerous variation is hard to keep a  count on. Out of the thousands of different kinds, peda with its roots from ancient times is irreplaceable. There are different types of peda, out of which doodh peda, and Kesar peda are some of the most common types. So, with a slight twist in the recipe and considering people’s love for chocolate, we are here with a unique recipe, chocolate peda.

What is Chocolate Peda?

Chocolate Peda is an Indian fudge treat made for festivals and celebrations. The classic pedas require a lengthy cooking period. On the other hand, this recipe is quick and uses milk powder and condensed milk. These fast ones are just as rich and tasty, with a melt-in-your-mouth quality, and can be made in no time.

Chocolate Milk Peda is a special occasion treat. Be it Diwali, or Halloween, this peda will make a great addition to your dessert a la carte.

This delicacy is essentially a narrative of chocolate and milk fusion. To make this sinfully delicious dessert, milk powder is combined with the richness of cocoa powder together in perfect harmony!

So, let’s get started.

Ingredients At A Glance

Milk Powder – This is the main component in this chocolate peda recipe; thus, you must make certain that it is of the highest quality. We use full-fat milk powder in this recipe for richness and taste.

Cocoa Powder – I have used unsweetened processed cocoa powder. The color and flavor of your peda will be entirely determined by the type and quality of cocoa powder you choose. So, choose that wisely.

Powdered Sugar – I have used powdered sugar for this recipe. You can use other natural sweeteners like jaggery, but the taste might not be as same as with sugar.

Ghee – Ghee, or clarified butter, is known for imparting flavor and richness to pedas. It is mostly used to add a nutty and caramel flavor that distinguishes any Indian sweets.

Milk – I used milk to prepare the dough and mix all the dry ingredients together.

Pistachios – You can use any dry fruits of your choice for garnishing. You can also use choco chips. I have used pistachios; the green color looks great on the brown chocolate pedas.

How To Prepare Chocolate Peda?

Heat the ghee, milk powder, powdered sugar, and milk in a saucepan. Stir and cook on medium-low till it forms a dough

Now pour the dough into a mixing bowl and add cocoa powder

Mix well till the cocoa powder has been incorporated into the dough completely.

Once the dough is ready, grease your palms with ghee and make round balls, and press the top part to form a dent.

Garnish with some chopped pistachios, and it is ready to be served.
