Dive into a fresh feast for the senses with our Mango Salsa – a jubilant fusion of tropical mangoes, a medley of vibrant veggies and aromatic roasted Indian spices, impeccably garnished with cilantro, creating a sweet, tangy and mildly spicy flavor journey that’s both refreshing and unexpectedly delightful.

  • 1 ripe mango diced into cubes
  • 1 medium size red bell pepper diced into cubes (you can use any bell pepper of your choice or a combo).
  • 1/2 purple onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon roasted masala (see in notes)
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • ½ cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, honey or monk fruit sugar ( non-caloric)

Step 1: Mixing Magic – Creating the Base

Combine chopped mangoes, red bell pepper, onion, lemon juice, roasted masala, green chili, sugar and a smidgen of salt in a large mixing bowl. As you delicately toss together these ingredients, enjoy the delightful dance of colors converting into a beautiful symphony of flavors.

Step 2: Garnishing & Chilling – Flavor Infusion

Accentuate your prepared blend with finely chopped cilantro garnish. Now comes the play of patience. Let your salad rest in the refrigerator for an hour. During this time, all the ingredients get an opportunity to marry their unique flavors, transforming your salsa into a bowlful of enriched heavenly taste.

Optional: Want a crunchy or protein-rich punch? Feel free to toss in some cucumbers or black beans right after your cilantro garnish.

Step 3: The Grand Serve – Showcasing Your Creation

Your exceptional Mango Salsa is now performance-ready! Choose your style: serve it cold, fresh out of the refrigerator, or let it settle to room temperature. The colorful palette of this salsa pairs fantastically with crispy tortilla chips for that satisfying crunch.

There you have it, your homemade, enticingly different, and irresistibly delicious Mango Salsa. Enjoy it to the last bite!

To make the roasted masala: dry roast the cumin, coriander and optional dried red chili, cool, mix and grind together. Store in a glass or metal jar.

It’s a good idea to make a larger quantity of this roasted spice mix. Add equal amount of cumin and coriander and however many dried red chilies you’d like.

Sugar is fully optional, depending on how ripe and sweet your mango is you may not need any.
