Mung Bean Sprouts are the most widely used culinary sprout in Indian cuisine. In addition, they’re used to produce Indian curries, salads, snacks, and other foods.

Mung bean sprouts can also be added to buddha bowls, poke bowls, hearty soups, stir fry noodles, and nutritious salads, like the one we are making today.

Notable Ingredients at a Glance

Green mung sprouts: I have used handmade moong bean sprouts, and it took me around 2-3 days for the mung to sprout. However, you should be able to utilize store-bought sprouts to shorten the sprouting time.

Potato: Use 2 medium-sized boiled peeled and cut into 2 cm cubes. If you don’t like potatoes, you can skip them.

Onion: 1 small finely chopped onion will add a sweet crunch to the dish. You can add more if you like the flavor of raw onions.

Tomatoes: Tomato adds tanginess as well as color to the salad. It will make you want ore.

Green chilies: Add finely chopped green chilies depending on your spice tolerance

Coriander leaves: 4 cups of finely chopped coriander leaves adds to the flavor of the salad

Peanuts: Add 4 cups of roasted peanuts for the healthy fat.

Lime juice: Moong sprout salad is mostly like when tangy. Hence, lemon is an essential ingredient, in my opinion. Adjust the quantity based on your taste buds.

Spices: Add 1 teaspoon of chaat masala for the street-style chatpata flavor and ½ teaspoon of pepper powder (optional).

Salt: Chaat masala has salt in it, so I always add less salt; one can increase or decrease the quantity depending on the taste.
