Spicy Buttered Corn

Buttery Corn With A Hint Of Spice

We all enjoy fresh sweet corn and their dishes. Do we not? It is one of those adaptable ingredients that can be used in any recipe but also eaten raw without cooking or boiling. As you begin to consume the fresh sweet corn kernels, your tongue will erupt with juice and flavor. While it is well known that it can be used in any sophisticated recipe, combining it with simple components to create outstanding cuisine is the beauty. So, here it is.

What is Spicy Buttered Corn?

Spicy buttered corn is a healthful, quick, and simple snack. It is made by combining cooked Sweet Corn kernels with butter, lemon juice, and a few spices.

It is a pretty popular snack in India, and it can be found at roadside vendors and outside restaurants around the nation. This snack is also helpful for satisfying late-night eating cravings.

Spicy buttered corn is often made by separating the kernels from fresh corn on the cob. However, because it is a somewhat longer process, I have substituted frozen corn kernels in this recipe, which are accessible at practically all grocery stores. Let’s get started!

Ingredients At A Glance

Sweet Corn – Sweet corn is the main component in this dish, and it must be very fresh. Essentially, the fresh ones are laden with juice, and as they rest, the liquid dries and loses flavor. Of course, you can also use frozen corn kernels; it won’t make much difference.

Butter – The more buttery you want your corn to be, the more butter you add. You can use vegan butter to make it vegan.

Chopped Coriander – Chopped coriander adds a fresh and intense aroma to the dish.

Spices – You do not need many spices for this recipe. You will need chaat masala, which you will find in any Indian grocery store, and some red chili powder or paprika.

Lemon Juice – Lemon juice is to add acidity. So, add it as per your wish for tanginess.

Salt & Black Pepper – As per taste.

How to Prepare Spicy Buttered Corn?

First, boil the sweet corn kernels for 5 minutes. Then, drain the water and pour the kernels into a mixing bowl.

To it, add chopped coriander, butter, chaat masala, red chili powder, lemon juice, salt & black pepper. Give it a good mix and serve it in a bowl.

Garnish with some fresh coriander leaves and an extra dose of butter. Enjoy!
