A delicious way to enjoy a summer favorite

Everyone will be raving about this easy strawberry salsa at your next party. This delectable fruit salsa has a fresh, fruity zing that people enjoy. This colorful offering is for dessert or any time of day with the additional perks of being diabetic-friendly, weight-loss-friendly, and satisfying.

People are often surprised to find strawberries in salsa, but it goes really well with grilled chicken and pork and as a dip with corn chips.

What is strawberry salsa?

This strawberry salsa is a lovely party appetizer or snack that is as tasty as it is colorful. It’s really versatile and may be made sweet or spicy (or a little of both!) depending on whether you want mild, medium, or highly hot salsa. You can use the jalapeno seeds to adjust the heat, and feel free to add an extra if you want it really spicy! As indicated, it has a subtle tickle, similar to medium salsa. For mild salsa, omit the jalapeno altogether or substitute it with fresh chopped avocado.

Ingredients at a Glance

Strawberries – For the salsa recipe, use freshly ripened strawberries. I would not recommend using frozen because they get watery when thawed.

Onion – These are ideal for salsa. If necessary, you can substitute yellow or white onion.

Coriander leaves – Use finely chopped fresh coriander leaves. You can use cilantro instead of coriander leaves.

Lime juice – For the most pleasing flavor, use freshly squeezed lime juice rather than bottled lime juice.

Black salt – For seasoning (you can find this online on Amazon or in a local Indian grocery store). You can use regular salt too if you prefer, but black salt also called rock salt gives it a special flavor.

How to prepare Strawberry Salsa?

Combine the diced strawberries, red onion, chopped coriander leaves, lime juice, salt, and black salt in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Allow it to sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving for the most outstanding flavor.

Serve alongside tortilla chips or simply enjoy as-is.

Some Expert Tips for preparing Strawberry Salsa

-Spice it up by adding 1/2 seeded and diced jalapeno pepper to the strawberry salsa for an added kick.

-If you want to add some sweetness, go ahead! If desired, a few teaspoons of honey or maple syrup can be added to sweeten up less ripe berries. The riper the berries, the sweeter the salsa!
