  • 1 inch Ginger – chopped
  • 7 to 8 Pepper Corns
  • ½ tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Honey/Jaggery (you can add more if you like your tea sweeter)
  • 2 cups Water


  1. In a mortar and pestle add ginger and pepper corns.
  2. Crush them and make a fine paste.
  3. Keep the water on stove top for boiling.
  4. Once it comes to a boil reduce the flame and add the ginger – pepper paste and turmeric powder.
  5. Keep boiling for 4 to 5 minutes or till two cups of water is reduced to one cup.
  6. Keep stirring in between.
  7. Now add honey and mix well.
