Scale
Ingredients
- 1 cup Hara Chana/Choliye ( outside India you will get this in the frozen section of your local I find grocery store).
- 4 Potato – medium size cut into 2cm cubes
- 4 Whole dry red chili
- 4 Green chili – slit length wise
- 1 Ginger – inch finely chopped
- ¼ tsp Asafetida
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala (I have used Everest Garam masala)
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- ½ cup Coriander leaves – finely chopped
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Mustard oil or any oil
Instructions
- Heat a kadai add oil, whole dry red chili, cumin seeds, asafetida, finely chopped ginger and green chilies and saute on low heat for 2 to 3 till the raw smell of ginger goes away. Now add potatoes and mix.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder.Mix everything well.
- Add hara chana and saute again. Cover and cook for 10 to 12 minutes. Keep stirring in between so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan. I added ¼ cup of water as I felt the masala was sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Mix well, garnish with coriander leaves and serve with roti or paratha.
