Kadai Paneer is a simple yet amazingly flavorful paneer recipe made by cooking paneer with fresh ground spices. This curry goes well any Indian bread.



Kadai Paneer

  • 400 gms Paneer – cut into cubes
  • 3 Tomato – pureed
  • 1 tsp Ginger–Garlic Paste – heaped (½ tsp ginger and ½ tsp garlic)
  • 1 Onion – medium size cut into 2-inch cubes
  • 3 Bell Peppers – medium size cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Kadai masala

Kadai Masala

  • 10 to 12 Red Chilies Whole
  • 1 tbsp Pepper Corns
  • 1 tbsp Coriander/Dhania Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Cumin/Jeera Seeds
  • 1 tsp Fennel/Saunf Seeds


  1. Let us first prepare the Kadai masala
  2. Heat a pan add whole red chilies, pepper corns, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and fennel seeds roast them on low heat for 2 minutes. The spices will release a nice nutty aroma, switch off the gas and keep it aside.
  3. Let it cool.
  4. Once it cools down, grind it coarsely.Keep it aside.
  5. Heat a kadai add oil.
  6. Now add the tomato puree.
  7. Stir it well. Now add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder and ginger garlic paste.
  8. Cook it on low heat for 3 to 5 minutes, the oil will start separating out.
  9. Now add the kadai masala and mix.
  10. Cook on medium heat for 2 minutes.
  11. Now add the onion and mix well.
  12. Add the bell peppers and saute for a minute on medium flame.
  13. Add the paneer cubes and cook on medium heat for 2 minutes.
  14. Kadai paneer is now ready to serve.
  15. Enjoy with roti, paratha or naan.Kadai Paneer Image
