Description
The much requested whole wheat lavash bread is here! Lavash is a Lebanese flat bread and very easy to prepare and can be served with any kind of dip like hummus or hung curd dip.

Lavash
- 1 cup Wheat Flour
- ¼ cup Olive Oil (you can use any ordure less oil of your choice)
- ½ cup Water
- 2 tbsp Oregano
- 2 tbsp Chili flakes
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Flax Seeds
- 1 tbsp Sesame/Till Seeds
Hung Curd Dip
- 400 gms (almost 1 lb) Curd/Plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Garlic – crushed in a mortar and pestle
- 1 tsp Sugar – powdered (optional)
Instructions
Lavash
- Preheat the oven at 180C or 350F
- Also grease a baking tray and keep it aside.
- In a bowl add flour, salt, chilli flakes, oregano and oil. Add water little at a time and bring everything together and form a smooth soft dough.
- Cover with a damp kitchen towel and let it rest for at least half an hour. After half an hour divide the dough into 4 equal portions.
- Now dust some dry flour on your kitchen counter and roll out into a circle like a roti as thin as possible.
- Sprinkle some flax seeds on the roti and roll it again.
- With the help of a knife cut the circle/roti into 4 to 5 triangles or any shape you desire.
- Now arrange them into the greased baking tray and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown in colour at 180C or 350F.
- Once done take it out of the oven and let it cool completely.
- Your crispy lavash is ready to serve.

Hung Curd Dip
- Hung Curd as the name suggests is prepared by straining the water of the curd.
- Take curd in a muslin cloth and hang it on the kitchen sink tap to drain out all the whey. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes for the water to drain out completely.
- You can use Greek yogurt to omit this step fully.
- Now for the dip
- Place hung curd or Greek yogurt in a bowl.
- Add salt, sugar, if using, and crushed garlic and mix well.
- Serve it with your crispy lavash.
- The dip can be stored in the refrigerator for at least 4 to 5 days.
Notes
You can also make variations in the dip by adding oregano, chili flakes, dried or fresh mint leaves, pepper powder, basil, thyme anything of your choice.
