Description
Chilli Chicken is a sweet, spicy and slightly sour crispy appetizer made with chicken, bell peppers, garlic, chilli sauce and soya sauce. Its hands down the best dish you can make at home.

Ingredients
Chicken Marination
- 500gms or 1 pound Chicken – (boneless or boned- in cut into approximately 1-inch cubes)
- 1 tbsp Dark Soya Sauce
- 1 tbsp White Vinegar
- 1 tsp Chilli Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste – ½ tsp ginger and ½ tsp garlic
Sauce
- 1 Onion – large cut into 2cm cubes
- 6 to 8 Green chillies – slit length wise
- 1 tsp Ginger – finely chopped
- 1 tsp Garlic – finely chopped
- 2 Bell Pepper – cut into 2cm cubes (Red, green or yellow whatever you desire you can use)
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Green Chilli Sauce – (optional, if you like it hot and spicy)
- 1 tsp Sugar
- ½ tsp Salt – (be careful with the salt as soya sauce has lot of salt)
- 2 tbsp Oil
- ½ cup Water
Instructions
- Heat a wok add oil. Now add chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies and sauté for 2 minutes till the raw smell of ginger and garlic goes.
- Now add the chicken pieces and mix everything well. Cook on medium high heat for 2 minutes now add salt, chilli powder and soya sauce. Mix everything well.
- Add the chopped onions and sugar. Cook on high heat for 5 to 6 minutes or till the water given out by chicken evaporates.
- Now add the bell peppers and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes in medium high.
Add green chilli sauce. At this stage add some water. Lower the heat to low. - Cook for 5 – 6 minutes more.
Notes
Marinade the chicken with all the above ingredients for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
