Description
Gobi manchurian is a popular Indo-Chinese dish. In gobi manchurian, gobi/cauliflower is deep fried.But I have tried a healthier version by steaming the cauliflower and then adding it to the sauce.

Ingredients
- 2 Gobi/Cauliflower – medium size cut into florets
- 1 cup Bell peppers – cut into 2cm cubes
- 1 cup Spring onion bulbs – cut into halves
- ½ cup Spring onions green – cut into 1cm length
- 4 Green chili – slit length wise
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
- 1 tbsp Red chili sauce
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Garlic – finely chopped
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Oil
Instructions
- Let us first prepare the steamer by adding water in it and steaming the cauliflower for 5 minutes on high flame.
- We do not have to cook the gobi completely or else it will become mushy. The gobi should be half cooked. Keep it aside once done.
- Now take a kadai heat it and add oil.
- Fry the half cooked gobi florets till golden brown in colour.
- Once done keep it aside in a bowl.
- Now let us prepare the sauce for the gobi manchurian.
- All the cooking for the sauce is done in medium to high heat.
- In the same kadai add chopped garlic and green chilies and saute for a minute.
- Add soy sauce, tomato ketchup and red chili sauce.
- Keep stirring it so that the sauce does not get burnt.
- Now add the spring onion bulbs and salt.
- Saute for 2 minutes.
- Add vinegar, sugar and mix well.
- Add the bell peppers and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add the cauliflower florets and mix with a light hand so that the florets do not break.
- If you feel there is not much gravy add some more tomato ketchup and mix everything well.
- Cook on high heat for 3 to 4 minutes for all the flavours to incorporate well.
- Once done garnish with some chopped spring onion greens and serve.
- Enjoy Gobi Manchurian with some Chinese fried rice or noodles.
