What is Russian Salad?

Russian Salad is also known as “Ensalada Rusa,” “Olivier Salad,” or “Salad Olivieh.” It is a traditional Russian dish composed of diced vegetables and mayonnaise dressing. Lucien Olivier invented the original form, hence the name “Olivier salad.”

It is a simple and quick salad dish to prepare for dinner parties at home and is frequently found on restaurant menus. You can cook this salad with your regular meals or eat it anytime because it is refreshing and filling. A few key ingredients are potatoes, eggs, carrots, pickles, onions, peas, and mayonnaise-based dressing.

The Russian Potato Salad, like this Polish Potato Salad with Pickles and Eggs, is extremely popular because of its taste and ease of making.
